Tabnine is fast. Because it can run small models locally, the suggestions appear instantly as I type. However, I noticed the suggestions were sometimes less 'smart' than GPT-4 based tools.
Best Feature: Privacy
This is the selling point. For companies where code cannot leave the premise, Tabnine's ability to run entirely offline or on a private server is unmatched. I felt safe using it on proprietary client projects.
The Verdict
If you work in defense, healthcare, or strict enterprise environments, Tabnine is your only real option. For everyone else, it feels a bit dated compared to Cursor.
